Input device for a computer or plotting device

An input device for a computer or a plotter comprises a flexible sheet containing an array of electrically conducting wires. The location of a pen-like stylus, a light pen or some other kind of pointer, even a finger, can be determined relative to the flexible sheet and the position may be recorded. The wires in the sheet may connect an array of cells containing electroluminescent gas. In use, the device may be used for inputting thee-dimensional drawing data. The apparatus may also incorporate a GPS device so that if a map is attached over the device the present position may be illuminated on the map by one of the gas cells.
