PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring the phosphorylation of a protein. SOLUTION: This method involves the in vitro phosphorylation of a target protein, provided that the protein (non-phosphorylated) is made to be a reaction mixture containing all reagents, including phosphokinase which allows the creation of a phosphorylated form of the protein. The phosphorylated protein is measured by contacting it with an antibody specific for the phosphorylation site(s). The invention particularly relates to the phosphorylation of Tau, Rb and EGFR proteins and antibodies specific for the site of phosphorylation of the Tau, Rb or EGFR proteins.
