REMOVABLE COVER FOR A TORPEDO LADLE CAR

A removable cover for a metal mixer of a torpedo ladle car is provided to reduce costs for maintenance and repairing of the cover by partially separating and replacing the cover when a body of the cover is damaged. In a cover for covering a hot metal injection port of a metal mixer mounted on a torpedo ladle car transferring hot metal produced in a blast furnace, a removable cover for the metal mixer of the torpedo ladle car comprises a metal casing(21) and a refractory body(22). The metal casing is a downward open type metal casing in which a side plate(21B) extends in the downward direction from an edge part of a flat top plate(21A). The refractory body is consisted of an upper body(22A) and a lower body(22B). Top and side faces of the upper body are closely adhered to a bottom face of the top plate and an inner face of the side plate respectively. The lower body extends in the downward direction from a central part except an edge part of a bottom face of the upper body. The refractory body is separably assembled with the casing by bolts(B) and nuts(N). The lower body inserted into the metal mixer through the hot metal injection port has a planar cross-sectional area which gradually decreases as it goes from an upper part of the lower body to a lower part thereof.
