PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load applied to a battery and waste of power at the time of restart of an engine in association with idle stop control while constituting an electric parking brake device so as to be able to operate in response to input from a driver.SOLUTION: An engine start control system for a vehicle includes: a starter 30 connected to a battery 80; an idle stop control section 12 automatically stopping an engine and automatically restarting the engine by the starter; input means generating an operation request in response to input from a driver; an electric parking brake device 40 including an electric motor 42 connected to the battery, the electric motor driven in response to the operation request; and an arbitration section prohibiting driving of the electric motor in response to a predetermined operation request when the engine is being restated by the idle stop control section while prohibiting a restart of the engine by the idle stop control section when the electric motor is in a driven state in response to the predetermined operation request.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
