PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair dye composition which contains a dye, is used by mixing the first agent with the second agent, has an excellent dyeing property, and can uniformly dye hair, when the hair is dyed. SOLUTION: This hair dye composition prepared by mixing the first agent containing a dye with the second agent containing an oxidizing agent, when used, is characterized by containing a divalent metal salt and/or a divalent metal hydroxide and an amino carboxylic acid and/or its derivative.
