PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flash light emitting device that has high frequency allowing a switching operation and is capable of high speed continuous light emission without using a high performance semiconductor element. SOLUTION: A semiconductor element 3-1 and a semiconductor element 3-2 for use as switching means are connected parallel to each other. The simiconductor elements 3-1 and 3-2 are connected so that each forms a closed circuit involving a light emitting tube 1 and a capacitor 2 that applies a voltage to the light emitting tube 1.
