<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an water dispersion for inkjet recording containing few coarse particles of Pigment Blue 15:3, and to provide an aqueous ink for inkjet recording, containing a water dispersion obtained by the method and excellent in discharging properties and chroma. <P>SOLUTION: [1] The method for producing a water dispersion for inkjet recording comprises: a step (1) of obtaining a mixture (1) by mixing a water-insoluble polymer containing a structural unit derived from an ionic monomer (a), a neutralizing agent and an organic solvent; a step (2) of obtaining a colored mixture (2) by adding Pigment Blue 15:3 to the mixture (1); a step (3) of obtaining a dispersion liquid (1) by dividedly and/or continuously adding water to the colored mixture (2); a step (4) of obtaining a dispersion liquid (2) by further dispersing the dispersion liquid (1) using a dispersing machine; and a step (5) of removing the solvent from the dispersion liquid (2).
