PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic coating method that generates no sagging of a coating material on a side of wood or a plate of the wood and has a predetermined coating thickness. SOLUTION: The method is employed for coating a resin coat on the wood or the plate of the wood with electrostatic coating. The electrostatic coating is performed by using a device having a conveyor 11 that reciprocatably supports the plate 10 and an electrostatic coating gun 15 disposed above the plate 10 and movably provided relative to the plate 10. In coating, a unsaturated polyester resin with a thixotropic index of 2.5 to 4.0 and a viscosity of 2 to 4 Pa s is used as the coating material. This allows the upper surface and the side of the plate 10 to be coated in coated quantity of 150 to 300 g/m<SP>2</SP>. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
