<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor capable of preferably adjusting the interval between a detection element and a heater element for adjusting the heat transmitted to a detection part from the heater element. <P>SOLUTION: The gas sensor 1 is equipped with a plate-shaped detecting element 11, having a detection part 11a that extends in the direction of an axial line G for detecting specific gas components in a gas to be measured, and a plate-shaped heater element 12 laminated on the detection element 11 via an adhesive layer 70.
