Method for testing the seal results of sealing films in a sealing station of a thermoforming machine

Claimed is a process to test the integrity of a twin-foil (1, 2) wrapper in which the outer faces are exposed to a heated tool with numerous truncated pyramid nipples. The nipples leave a permanent detent of depth 's'. The geometric parameters of the detent (9) surround (7, a) are registered by a sensor at the foil (6) surface (8). The detent parameters are registered by an optical sensor e.g. a camera with image sensor. The detent depth 's' is the key parameter for seal integrity.
