The purpose of the present invention is to provide a probe, an ultrasound imaging apparatus, and a method to control an ultrasound imaging apparatus for generating an electric signal based on a current outputted by a transducer element to transmit and receive ultrasound to/from a subject formed with a plurality of cells. The probe comprises: the transducer element formed with the plurality of cells connected in parallel; a transducer array including the plurality of transducer elements; and a current detection unit to apply voltages to the plurality of cells which form the transducer element, in a transmission process or to output the electric signal based on currents outputted from the plurality of cells in a reception process.
