PURPOSE: To provide a presser of a sewing machine which allows a presser holder and an embroidery presser to be attached to and detached from a presser bar with one touch, and which can be easily operated.CONSTITUTION: A presser of a sewing machine comprises: a presser bar 1 supported on the sewing machine so as to be vertically slidable; and a presser B fitted to the lower end of the presser bar 1 to press a fabric during sewing work. The presser of the sewing machine further comprises: an attachment shaft member A which is used for detachably fitting the presser B to the presser bar 1 and is slidable with respect to the presser bar 1; and on the presser B, a part 6 to be attached which is fixed to the lower end of the presser bar 1 by the attachment shaft member A. The attachment shaft member A comprises: holding shaft parts 3 for holding the part 6 to be attached on the presser bar 1; and two positioning shaft parts 2 which have smaller diameters than the holding shaft parts 3 and have different shaft diameters. In the part 6 to be attached of the presser B, there are provided slits 62 which are continuous with holding holes 63 allowing the holding shaft parts 3 to be inserted therein, and which have widths corresponding to the different shaft diameters of the positioning shaft parts 2 of the attachment shaft member A.
