The valve gear device for variable lift adjustment is for a gas exchange valve of an internal combustion engine and has the valve (2) via the intermediary of a transmission component (3) effectively connected to a roller (5) movable around a rotary axis (4). The roller has a control track (6) with a free lift curve (6') and a lift curve (6'') and for lift operation of the gas exchange valve by a cam (7') of a camshaft (7) has a controlled pivot lever (8) in an end area. The pivot lever is spring-loaded for variable lift adjustment via a pivot rotary point (12) alterable as to position and fixable by an adjustment device (11).
