PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both the convenience to a user and efficient recovery of a deficient prepaid value while avoiding a state where a prepaid value is always negative, in accordance with fundamental principles of prepaid services, in the case of allowing a state where the prepaid value associated with a storage medium becomes negative in relation with commercial products which the user purchases.SOLUTION: When a payment processing system 10 performs payment processing by subtracting a prepaid value stored in a card 2, it is determined whether an amount of payment exceeds a balance of the prepaid value or not, and data associated with the card 2 satisfies a prescribed condition or not in the case of the amount of payment exceeding the balance of the prepaid value. If it satisfies the prescribed condition, the amount of payment is subtracted from the prepaid value to perform payment processing making the prepaid value negative. |
