PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus (100) for processing a source (101A) of compressed digital video and control data in transport packets. SOLUTION: The apparatus (100) has an acquiring means (104) for acquiring copy control data (104A) from transport packets in response to the source (101A). A generating means (105) generates a copy control word (CC) in response to the copy control data (104A).
