PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal film-forming paint capable of efficiently forming a metal film, which can reflect visible light at high reflectance and has high metallic density despite its thinness, while reducing usage of metal, and to provide the metal film. SOLUTION: The metal film forming paint comprises at least metal particles and a solvent, and a number-average particle size D<SB>TEM</SB>calculated from transmission electron microscopic images of the metal particles is 15-80 nm, while a ratio D50/D10 of a particle size D10 of 10% of all the metal particles to a particle size D50 of 50% of all the metal particles is 3 or lower.
