PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CM transmission/reception system by which a sponsor can obtain a further advertisement effect in the same time zone independently of the type of broadcast and a viewer can easily select a CM by its own intention. SOLUTION: A sponsor master unit 1 distributes CM resources 11, 12 and two CM.ID information sets corresponding to the CM resources 11, 12, a broadcasting station terminal 2 generates and outputs CM resources 11, 12 reduced composited video images resulting from reducing/compositing the video images of the CM resources 11, 12 and multi-channel audio data where audio data of the CM resources 11, 12 are assigned to separate audio channels, composites and outputs two CM.ID information sets, and a transmitter 3 transmits the reduced composited video images, the multi-channel audio data and the two sets of the CM.ID information. A reception terminal 4 automatically or manually select either of the CM resources 11, 12 on the basis of the 2 sets of the CM.ID information sets and the attribute information of a viewer entered in advance.
