<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor that prevents the lifetime from being reduced due to evaporation of lubricating fluid. <P>SOLUTION: The spindle motor includes a shaft fixed to a base member, a fixed unit mounted on the shaft so as to be arranged in an upper part of the base member, and a sleeve member that forms a bearing gap with the fixed unit so as to be filled with lubricating fluid. The fixed unit is formed of a plurality of fixed members. The fixed members are arranged at predetermined intervals so as to interpose the lubricating fluid between the fixed members facing each other.
