PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of a cross-linking reactive solid surface having excellent adhesion to a sulfur cross-linked rubber and a method of manufacturing a solid material adherend and the sulfur cross-linked rubber having high adhesion strength. SOLUTION: The molecular adhesive comprises a compound expressed by general formula (1): [Xa(YO)<SB>3-a</SB>SiR<SP>1</SP>]<SB>b</SB>Z and exhibiting cross-linking reactivity, where in the formula, X and Y can be the same as or different from each other and each is a 1-4C alkyl group or alkenyl group, R<SP>1</SP>is a 1-18C alkylene group or phenylene group and the alkylene group can contains -NH-, -CO-, -O-, -S-, -COO- and -C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>4</SB>-. Z expresses -SH, -SCSN(CH<SB>3</SB>)<SB>2</SB>, -SSCSN(CH<SB>3</SB>)<SB>2</SB>, -SCSN(C<SB>2</SB>H<SB>5</SB>)<SB>2</SB>, -SCSN(C<SB>4</SB>H<SB>9</SB>)<SB>2</SB>, -SCSN(C<SB>8</SB>H<SB>17</SB>)<SB>2</SB>, -SS-, -SSS-, -SSSS- or a group of a formula, where (a) is 0,1 or 2 and (b) is 1 or 2.
