A drum pedal apparatus 10 having a beater 17 which rotates in a generally horizontal plane. The pedal apparatus comprises a frame having a horizontal member 11 and a vertical member 12, a heel plate 14 pivotally connected to a foot board 15, a beater 17 on a beater mounting 16, and a drive assembly linking the pedal and the beater. The beater mechanism can be adjusted, so that the beater may rotate in either a clockwise direction or an anti-clockwise direction in response to depression of the foot pedal. The link between the rotating cam 20 and the beater mechanism is preferably a rigid rod 21a, 21b. Preferably the horizontal and vertical members of the frame and the link rod 21a, 21b, are telescopically adjustable. There may be means to prevent slippage of the pedal apparatus such as carpet spikes, or a hook and loop fastener. The pedal apparatus is particularly intended for use with a Cajon drum. |
