PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mirror system capable of allowing a driver to arbitrarily check states behind or aside a vehicle. SOLUTION: The electronic mirror system comprises image pickup devices 11, 12 for picking up images of the states behind or aside the vehicle 1, a display device 20 for displaying image signals outputted from the image pickup devices 11, 12, a detection device 30 for detecting that a person gets on the vehicle 1 by weight applied on a seat of a driver's seat, a key of an owner of the vehicle, or the fitting of a seat belt of the driver's seat of the vehicle, and a control device 40 for allowing the display device 20 to start the display of the image when the detection device 30 detects that a person gets on the vehicle.
