PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep constant the hydraulic pressure on the outlet side of a hydroelectric power system, and to efficiently collect electric energy from the water flowing in a waterline. SOLUTION: A pressure-reducing valve 4 and a waterwheel generator 5 are provided in series on the upstream side and the downstream side respectively at the midpoint of the waterline 3. Then the outlet side of the waterwheel generator and the cylinder chamber 16 of the pressure-reducing valve 4 are connected to each other by a secondary-pressure detection tube 7. The hydraulic pressure on the outlet side is detected by the open/close valve 8 provided to the secondary-pressure detection tube 7, and the water is discharged from the cylinder chamber 16 to the outlet side. Then a main valve 12 is opened and closed in accordance with a relationship of the magnitudes of the force of the main valve 12 to push the pressure-reducing valve 4 from the inlet side 9 to the cylinder chamber 16 side and from the cylinder chamber 16 side to the inlet side 9. Because of this constitution, the hydraulic pressure on the outlet side can be kept constant, and the total amount of the water flowing in the waterline 3 can be passed through the waterwheel generator.
