Provided is a cyclic sulfate ester-type additive which is for a nonaqueous electrolyte solution, and the decomposition of which in the nonaqueous electrolyte solution can be suppressed during long-term storage of the nonaqueous electrolyte solution. Also provided are a manufacturing method for the additive for a nonaqueous electrolyte solution, a nonaqueous electrolyte solution comprising the additive, and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery using the nonaqueous electrolyte solution. The additive for a nonaqueous electrolyte solution is represented by general formula (1). [In formula (1), X is one selected from the group consisting of (-CH2-)m, -CH(CH3)-, -C(CH3)2-, -CF2-, -C(CF3)2- and -C(C6H5)2-, and m is one among 1, 2 and 3. Z1 and Z2 each independently represent one selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, a -CF3 group and a -CH2CF3 group, Z1 and Z2 cannot both be a hydrogen atom, and if one among Z1 and Z2 is a -CF3 group, both Z1 and Z2 are a -CF3 group.] |
