<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of unnecessary feed motion and simplify the assembling of an oscillator while the stable state of contact between a contacted portion and a revolution body is maintained over a long period of time at all times. <P>SOLUTION: The controller is used for a vibration wave driver which uses an oscillator for forming drive oscillation in the inner plane direction of even numbered degrees and in the outside plane direction of odd numbered degrees, or forming drive oscillation in the inner plane direction of odd numbered degrees and in the outside plane direction of even numbered degrees. In the controller, one standing wave caused by the derived oscillation in either the outside planar direction or the inner planar direction and a standing wave caused by the other drive oscillations and capable of having its antinodes at arbitrary position phases are generated so that the oscillation in a slanting direction can be obtained by these two standing waves. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
