PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain device of a sludge scraping apparatus of which the mechanism of a sprocket wheel can gear with toothed wheels even if a cog or pin is used. SOLUTION: The chain device of a sludge scraping apparatus is characterized in that the segments of the chain consists of a narrow part in width as one side and a broad part as the other side and has a first linkage part with a first aperture part formed on the narrow part and a second linkage part with a second aperture part formed on the broad part. The device is further characterized in that one of the second aperture part and the other of the first aperture part are put in order and linked so that they are bendable by inserting the narrow part of the other narrow part of other segment between the broad part of one segment, the cog part of the sprocket wheel has a gap part with a size that can be inserted between a pair of side linkages and a notch part that can hold the pin of the sprocket wheel is formed at the bottom side of each side linkage.
