PURPOSE: An image conversion device for converting a 2D image into a 3D image, a method thereof, and a recording medium thereof are provided to manage a main object and a sub-object as one group by setting one or more sub-objects in an area of the main object when depth information of objects is inputted, thereby efficiently managing the objects. CONSTITUTION: A depth map generation device(200) stores and manages a main object and a sub-object as one group by setting a mutual subordinate relationship in two or more objects which are selected in a user input device(120). The depth map generation device generates a depth map by recognizing the depth information. An image control device(140) displays a 2D image by control of a display device(130). The image control device displays the main object and the sub-object together when the main object of the 2D image is selected.
