PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform program change between source programs differed in character code without regard to a difference in property of execution data resulting from the difference in character code. SOLUTION: The compile device for converting a source program 101 by a fixed length character code to a source program 114 by a variable length character code comprises a profile information output part 104 which analyzes profile information; and a profile update processing embedding part 105 which embeds profile update processing necessary for executing a load module 107 in the process of generating the load module 107. Based on the profile information output part 104 and a profile information table 106 updated by the profile update processing in execution of the load module 107, the conversion to the source program 114 most suitable to the different character code and an execution data group as target is performed.
