PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device for preventing a bending load due to a load on a driving sheave of a winder from operating on a balancing weight guide rail or a winder fable. SOLUTION: A car 2 is suspended from one end of a main rope 11 wound on a driving sheave 10 of a winder 9 arranged at the upper end of an elevator shaft 1 and a balancing weight 4 is suspended from the other end at a position corresponding to its gravity center. A balancing weight guide rail 14 erected on the elevator shaft 1 is arranged near the side of the car 2 beyond the position corresponding to the gravity center of the balancing weight 4, with its upper end supporting the position corresponding to the rotational center of driving sheave 10. A guide 13 is arranged near the side of the car 2 beyond the position corresponding to the gravity center of the balancing weight 4 and engaged with the balancing weight guide rail 14. Therefore, the lopsided load of the balancing weight guide rail 14 and the guide 13 is resolved, resulting in simplified structure and reduced cost.
