PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a constitution of a branching device for branching vessels 2 in two directions again after the vessels 2 fed from the two directions are merged, and to sort the vessels as uniformly as possible. SOLUTION: The branching device for the vessel is provided with: two rows of feed conveyors 4, 6 for feeding the vessels 2 from both sides of a conveying conveyor 8; a pair of rocking guides 54, 56 arranged on both sides of the conveying conveyor and changing a conveying direction of vessels; a control device for controlling operation of the rocking guide; two discharge conveyors 10, 12 in a downstream side of the conveying conveyor; and sensors 62, 64, 68, 70 for detecting the state of vessels of the respective feed conveyors and the discharge conveyor. When both discharge conveyors are not fully loaded, vessels are laid to a central side of the conveying conveyor, and when one of the discharge conveyor is fully loaded, they are fed to the other discharge conveyor. When feeding vessels from one feed conveyor is stopped and one discharge conveyor is fully loaded, vessels fed from the other feed conveyor are fed to the other discharge conveyor.
