PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide irregularly shaped resin particulates which are of a substantially spherical crown shape and has a large specific surface area, and also to provide a production method therefor.SOLUTION: The irregularly shaped resin particulate comprises a substantially spherical crown-shaped film body made of a resin and is characterized in that folded parts are formed on surfaces of the film body. The production method for the irregularly shaped resin particulate according to the present invention comprises: forming an oil droplet by dispersing, in an aqueous medium, an oily phase solution obtained by dissolving or dispersing at least a polymerizable monomer in a hydrophobic solvent; polymerizing the polymerizable monomer at a temperature below the boiling point of the hydrophobic solvent; and foaming the hydrophobic solvent by heating the hydrophobic solvent to a temperature above its boiling point to vaporize the solvent.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
