The present invention relates to a crane (1), in particular in the form of a container stacking crane or gantry crane, having electric actuator drives for lifting and/or moving loads and/or crane elements, a generator (9) for supplying energy to the actuator drives (6), an internal combustion engine (10) for driving the generator, input means (14) for inputting control commands for the actuator drives and a control device (11) for controlling the actuator drives as a function of the control commands which are input. The invention further relates to a method for controlling such a crane. The control device has a determining device (12) for determining and/or estimating a future power demand of the electric actuator drives on the basis of the activation of the input means with which control commands for the actuator drives are input, and the current operating state of the actuator drives, as well as an engine control unit for controlling the internal combustion engine as a function of the estimated/determined future power demand. |
