PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for manufacturing easily a hydrogen-embrittled tanium tube necessary for a standard sample in a nondestructive inspection method or the like. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the hydrogen-embrittled titanium tube is characterized by rubbing the surface of the titanium tube onto a metal in a solution. The device comprises a container for storing the solution, a metal baffle arranged in the container and having a hole for inserting the titanium tube, and a rotation means for holding one end of the titanium tube inserted into the hole of the metal baffle and rotating it. The device has a characteristic wherein the diameter of the hole of the metal baffle is larger than the outer diameter of the titanium tube by 0.04-2 mm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
