PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply for motor drive having high utilization efficiency of energy. SOLUTION: The power supply 100 has an energy type LIB1, a power type LIB2, a resistor 3, a regenerative current control unit 4, and an inverter 5, and connection can be changed by changing switches SW<SB>1</SB>, SW<SB>2</SB>, SW<SB>3</SB>, SW<SB>4</SB>. In a power mode, the energy type LIB1 supplies current to the inverter 5 via the regenerative current control unit 4 when a load current is not more than a prescribed threshold, and the energy type LIB1 and the power type LIB2 supply current to the inverter 5 when the load current exceeds the prescribed threshold. In a regenerative mode, the regenerative current control unit 4 receives the current from the inverter 5 for distributing the current according to the charged state and the maximum allowable current value of the energy and power type LIB1, LIB2.
