PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a painting drying device and a painting drying method which can satisfy drying requirements for wet paint film over the whole of an automotive body.SOLUTION: There is provided a paint drying method for drying a wet paint film applied onto an automotive body B comprising an outer panel and narrow portions N1, N2 while transporting the automotive body by using a paint drying apparatus having a drying furnace body 10 and hot blast generation supply means 20 that supplies hot blast into the drying furnace body. The method comprises a step of preparing an automotive body in which a plurality of recesses B14 with a diameter of 3 mm-5 mm and a depth of 0.1 mm-0.3 mm are formed in an applied face of the narrow part and a step of spraying how blast toward at least the narrow part to locally dry the paint film applied onto the narrow portions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2D |
