PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hole processing method capable of shortening the process for processing a hole and stabilizing the drill locating accuracy even in case the elevating/sinking direction of a drill for processing the hole is not perpendicular but aslant to the processing surface of a work to be processed or in case the processing surface is a curved. SOLUTION: A ball end mill 12 is located in the prescribed position on the processing surface 11A of the work to be processed 11 and descended in rotation, followed by ascending, and a preparatory hole 14 is formed in the processing surface 11A to a depth as able to guide the drill 13, and a guide groove 14A with a cylindrical top for guiding the drill 13 and a groove 14B having a section in a circular arc shape continued from the groove 14A are formed. If thereafter the drill 13 is located onto the preparatory hole 14 and descended in rotation at a prescribed feed speed, the tip of the drill 13 is put in the condition of locating guidance by the guide groove 14A of the preparatory hole 14, so that the hole 16 can be processed accurately by the drill 13 descending furthermore.
