PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength conversion element, a light source device and a projector capable of achieving high luminous efficiency.SOLUTION: The wavelength conversion element has a base plate 31 and a fluorescent layer 32 formed on the base plate 31. The volume concentration of the fluorescent body in the fluorescent layer 32 may be 15 vol% or more; or the volume concentration of the fluorescent body may be 17 vol% or more; or the volume concentration of the fluorescent body may be 50 vol% or less; or the volume concentration of the fluorescent body may be smaller than 50 vol%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
