<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a light receiving element (optical/electrical conversion element) from entering saturation state without having an impact on an image through a simple arrangement for superimposing a pulse signal having a pulse width narrow enough not to appear in the image onto an analog data signal for image formation. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus having exposure device 40 employing a semiconductor laser as an exposure source, a superimposing circuit 13 superimposes a pulse signal having a pulse width narrow enough not to appear in the image owing to the characteristics of the exposure device 40 onto an analog data signal for image formation so that a signal of the same logic does not continue for a long time through action of the pulse signal thus preventing a light receiving element 31 from entering saturation state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
