PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material and a monitor display method for a display device in which a cable can be easily connected to the external terminal of the back of the display device.SOLUTION: A mirror base 500a is assembled from a packaging material in which a television receiver 100 is packaged. A reflecting material sheet 300 is attached to the part of the mirror plate 240 of the mirror base 500a. When an installer 600 installs the mirror base 500a in the easiest work position by using the packaging material, the image of an external terminal 110 is displayed on the reflecting material sheet 300 of the mirror base 500a. When the installer 600 is moved to the front of the image of an installer position specification screen displayed on a large screen thin monitor 120, the installer 600 can confirm the image of the external terminal 110 by a visual confirmation route 10. The image of the external terminal 110 is reflected twice, that is, to the A surface and the B surface of the reflecting material sheet 300, so that returning to an original character shape is performed without reversing the character of the external terminal 110.
