PHOSPHOR AND LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor and a light emitting device using the same.

SOLUTION: The phosphor exhibiting high light emitting efficiency at a desired wavelength with stable light output and the light emitting device using the same are proposed. The phosphor comprises a crystal phase of a sulfide and a crystal phase of an oxide and is characteristically a multiphase compound where the crystal phase of the sulfide and the crystal phase of the oxide are mixed. The crystal phase of the sulfide can be comprised of thiometallates and the crystal phase of the oxide can be comprised of alkaline earth metal oxides.
