The present invention relates to a composition for treating alcoholism containing Xanthii Fructus extract as an active ingredient and a method for preparing the same, and more particularly, the composition is characterized by comprising the following steps: (1) stir-frying Xanthii Fructus for 3-5 minutes; (2) inserting Xanthii Fructus, 40-50 times weight of water compared with weight of the Xanthii Fructus, a cock pheasant, and 250-350 g of jujube in a certain size of a pressure cooker, and performing hot pressing to it so as to acquire hot-water extract; (3) discharging compressed air generated in the pressure cooker; and (4) filtering the hot-water extract so as to collect filtrate. According to the composition for treating alcoholism containing Xanthii Fructus extract as an active ingredient and the method for preparing the same proposed in the present invention, containing Xanthii Fructus extract as an active ingredient can change taste of alcoholic beverages so as to reduce preference of alcoholic beverages, and thereby, preventing a person from drinking alcoholic beverages so as to treat alcoholism.
