<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical plate which excels in luminance uniformity and light utilization ratio and can realize thinning, and to provide a direct-type backlight module that uses the optical plate. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical plate including a transparent substrate, provided with a light emission surface and a light-incidence surface formed on the side opposite to the light-emitting surface, a plurality of spot-shaped depressions are formed on the light-incidence surface of the transparent substrate, and a diffusion layer is filled in the plurality of spot-shaped depressions. Furthermore, in the direct-type backlight module which includes a reflecting plate, a plurality of point light sources disposed on the reflecting plate and the optical plate disposed on the plurality of point light sources, the optical plate includes a transparent substrate provided with a light-emitting surface and a light-incidence surface formed on the side opposite to the light-emitting surface; a plurality of spot-shaped depressions corresponding to the plurality of point light sources are formed on the light-incidence surface of the transparent substrate; and a diffusion layer is filled in the plurality of spot-shaped depressions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
