PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of achieving uniformity of luminance without changing a configuration of a circuit for correcting trapezoidal distortion by filter processing, and to provide a control method therefor.SOLUTION: A filter coefficient calculation section 32 detects a maximum value and a minimum value related to a deformation ratio of each pixel representing a degree of deformation due to trapezoidal distortion and calculates filter coefficients corresponding to a plurality of deformation ratios in response to a deformation ratio range (the minimum value to the maximum value). Further, the filter coefficient calculation section 32 corrects the filter coefficients by multiplying the filter coefficients calculated by luminance correction coefficients for correcting luminance deviations associated with the trapezoidal distortion and stores the filter coefficients corrected in a filter coefficient storage section 42. A deformation ratio calculation section 43 calculates the deformation ratio of each pixel that is an object to be processed by a filter operation section 45. The filter operation section 45 reads out the filter coefficients corresponding to the deformation ratios calculated by the deformation ratio calculation section 43 from the filter coefficient storage section 42 and performs filter processing of the filter coefficients read out. |
