PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber core wire hardly increasing transmission loss even in a high humidity state or a water-soaked state. SOLUTION: The optical fiber core wire includes a colored covering layer on an outer circumference of a primary coated optical fiber including at least two covering layers on the outer circumference of a glass optical fiber, wherein the difference in respective thermal expansion amounts of the primary coated optical fiber and the covering layers in which the glass optical fiber is removed from the primary coated optical fiber in the outer diameter direction in a temperature range of -100 to 100°C, is not greater than 1.8 μm.
