Provided is a set-top box for facilitating the selection of a broadcast program and multi-screen control by means of a portable information terminal. The set-top box according to the present invention can operate in either a single-screen mode or a multi-screen mode. In the multi-screen mode, the TV image signals of broadcast programs on first to fourth channels are configured for one screen, then encoded into compressed image signals according to digital TV standards, converted to signals according to the DLNA standard, and transmitted to a television (400). According to the present invention, a multi-screen having four broadcast programs configured in one screen is displayed on a television, and operations such as changing channels can be executed by a portable information terminal device connected to the same LAN. |
