In this well plate (1), which is provided with a plate body (2) and a well (3), insertion and extraction of a target object are carried out by means of a tip that carries out suction and discharge of the target object. The well (3) includes: an opening (31) that is provided on a top surface (21) of the plate body (2) and allows entry of the tip; a bottom portion (32) that is located inside the plate body (2); and a cylindrical wall surface (33) that extends downward from the opening (31) toward the bottom portion (32). The cylindrical wall surface (33) includes: an accommodating portion (34) that is a prescribed region above the bottom portion (32) and has a first horizontal cross-sectional size capable of accommodating a solid target object; and a receiving portion (35) that is a region reaching from above the accommodating portion (34) to the opening (31) and has a second horizontal cross-sectional size that is larger than the first horizontal cross-sectional size.
