PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably purifying an epoxy compound without causing its decomposition. SOLUTION: The method for purifying the epoxy compound comprises subjecting a mixture containing an epoxy compound represented by formula (1) (wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a 1-12C alkyl group; and Ar is an aromatic group optionally substituted with a substituent selected from a halogen atom and a trifluoromethyl group), an aprotic polar solvent, and an alkali metal salt to an operation of removing the aprotic polar solvent and the alkali metal salt and thereafter purifying the epoxy compound.
