The invention concerns a plastic drum lid for a standard drum with a clamping-ring closure. In order to increase the safety of a standard drum during storage and transport, in particular to increase the liquid tight drop cability when a full drum falls from, for instance, a truck or stack of drums, an improved drum lid design (12) is proposed which is characterized by the fact that the flat central part (22) of the lid has a reduced diameter, this part of the lid or its surface is disposed at approximately the same level as the sealing ring (28) or the upper end (36) of the lid edge, and the central part of the lid is joined to the lid edge by an annular element (38) which is spaced from the inside (26) of the lid edge and which is connected to the inside (26) of the lid edge such that an annular groove is formed between the central part (22) of the lid and the lid edge. |
