PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which provides better diffusivity of a body fluid and keeps a cushioning property when it is worn.SOLUTION: A surface sheet 3 for an absorbent article includes at least a surface material layer 8 constituting a skin contact surface layer and a second sheet layer 9 layered on a skin non-contact surface side of the surface material layer 8. A first convex part 10 bulging relatively toward a skin side with a space part 11 formed between the surface material layer 8 and the second sheet layer 9 and a second convex part 12 bulging relatively toward the skin side with the surface material layer 8 and the second sheet layer 9 brought into contact with each other are alternately arranged. A concave part 13 which is relatively recessed by compression from a surface side of the surface material layer 8 is provided between the first convex part 10 and the second convex part 12.
