An LCD is provided to prevent the un-filling of liquid crystal, by forming spacers of different sizes in an outside area of a display area as well as the display area so as to effectively disperse the liquid crystal in the display area. An LCD comprises an array substrate, a color filter substrate(10) facing the array substrate and having a black matrix, color filters, and spacers, a sealing member(18) formed at an edge of the array substrate or the color filter substrate to bond the two substrates, and a liquid crystal layer formed in a receiving region defined by the sealing member. The spacers is composed of plural first spacers(14) formed in a display area(20) and plural second spacers(16a,16b,16c) formed on an outside black matrix region(22) including four corners of the bonded substrates. The second spacers have different sizes so that the liquid crystal completely fills the receiving region of the bonded substrates. |
