BRAZE/WELD MANIPULATOR AND METHOD OF MANIPULATING NOZZLES

A braze/weld manipulator and a method of manipulating nozzles are provided to move and rotate the manipulator in the vertical direction or in the horizontal direction to set the position of a nozzle segment and maintain the manipulator without movement during welding. A manipulator assembly includes a vertical direction support member(20) and a horizontal direction support member(22). The vertical direction support member is mounted for a selective vertical direction displacement with respect to a base. The horizontal direction support member is operatively engaged with the vertical direction support member. The horizontal direction support member is displaced in the vertical direction together with a vertical shaft of the vertical direction support member and pivoted in the direction of an arrow about the vertical shaft. A nozzle segment fixing unit(14) is operatively engaged with the distal end of the horizontal direction support member to selectively support the nozzle segment.
